CHARLESTON - William Lindsey revved up for the finals and placed second behind a returning All-American from Illinois. Lindsey sprinted through the 60-meter hurdles in personal-best 8.12 seconds.

The Cougars competed Saturday at the Illinois Intercollegiates on the campus of Eastern Illinois.

SIUE Interim Head Coach Kareem Jackson was pleased with SIUE's performance. Along with the school record, there were 11 personal records set by the women's and men's teams at the meet.

Illinois won the meet with 169 points followed by Eastern Illinois with 128 and SIUE with 59.

Ben Bishop won the weight throw for fourth straight week. He only needed a throw of 65 feet, 4.25 inches to defeat the field from Illinois and Eastern Illinois by nearly nine feet.

Marcus Evans turned in a career best at 200 meters in 23.25.

Alonso Shepherd also ran strong in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.31.
