NAPERVILLE, Ill. – William Lindsey won both hurdles events Friday at the Keeler Invitational, the second breaking his own school record.
Lindsey won the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles events. His 400-meter win broke his own school record by .03 of a second at 51.45. His 110-meter time of 14.16 was less than one-tenth of a second off his season best.
"He looked very good," said SIUE Coach Eileen McAllister. "It was a nice return to form from wavering the past couple meets."
Marc Presley topped his season best effort in the 800-meter run. Competing in the second of 11 heats, Presley ran the event in 1:54.50.
Marc Amarillas turned in a solid performance in the 5,000-meter run. He ran the event in 15:05.37. That was just one second off his season best time.
Aaron Werths recorded a season-best time in the 10,000-meter run. He finished the race Friday in 32:07.15.
Greg Block also posted a season-best in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.73 meters (156-7). Block also placed 13th in the discus at 41.63 meters (136-7). Block's top finish was fifth in the shot put at 15.14 meters (49-8.25).
Kyle Lombardino took seventh in the discus with a throw of 45.85 meters (150-5).
"It was an exciting end to the season," noted McAllister. "It was a great environment. I'm not ready for the season to be over but am very excited for next year."
