INDIANAPOLIS - SIUE sprinter Darius Smith represented SIUE at the U.S. Junior National Championships.

Smith placed 16th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.64 seconds in the second of three heats. The event, hosted at Indiana University, gave the now-Cougar sophomore an opportunity to compete against the nation's top sprinters.

Tyreek Hill, an unattached runner at the Championships, won the event with a finals time of 20.57.
