OXFORD, Miss. – The SIUE track and field team wrapped up the weather shortened Joe Walker Invitational Saturday.
SIUE's Ben Scamihorn won the men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:34.35. Scamihorn is coming off breaking the SIUE school record (9:06.70) in the 3000m steeplechase at the Florida Relays Mar. 28.
In the women's 3000m steeplechase, Kassidy Dexheimer took second with a time of 11:42.94.
SIUE's Rachyl Anderson placed seventh (132 feet, 2 inches) in the women's discus and fifth in the shot put (32-02.25).
Friday's Action
Austin Woodard placed first in the men's 5000m with a personal record time of 15:02.55. SIUE's Landon Skelly placed tenth in the men's 1500m with a PR time of 3:55.06, which is #9 all-time for SIUE.
In the women's high jump, Nichyria Byrd took third with a mark of 19 feet, four inches.
The throwing events saw Austin Lynch place fourth in the men's hammer throw with a personal record toss of 189-03. SIUE's Alexis Hutchins (149-08) and Anderson (149.03) placed 12th and 13th respectively in the women's hammer throw.
Next up for SIUE is the Tom Botts Invitational Apr. 19-20 at Missouri.
