PEORIA, Ill. - SIUE men's and women's cross country competed at the Bradley Pink Classic Friday, the final regular season event before the Ohio Valley Conference Championships next month.
Mia Loafman posted SIUE's top time and a personal best in the women's 6K event, running the course in 22 minutes, 37.4 seconds and placing 160th overall.
Erica Woodard placed 175th in 22:52.6. Her time was the fourth fastest ever by an SIUE freshman. Woodard now holds three of the four fastest 6K freshman times in school history.
SIUE finished 30th as a team. Northwestern easily won the event by 79 points over Loyola.

Emilee Franklin (23:50.9/232nd),
Ella Goodman (23:59.6 (238th),
Ana Keller (24:20.0/245th),

In the men's "Red" 8K race,
Tyler Guthrie led the Cougars with a 139th-place finish in 25 minutes, 25.33 seconds. He was followed by
Tanner Emerson (25:51.44/190th),
Jackson Edwards (26:01.04/203rd),
Cullen Krieg (26:43.49/241st),
Logan Luttrell (26:54.61/247th),
D'Andre Watson (27:26.45/254th) and
Jack Willenborg (27:52.83/259th).
Emerson's finish was the ninth-fastest by an SIUE freshman all-time. It was an 8K PR for Krieg.
As a team, SIUE finished 29th overall. North Dakota State won the men's Red Race by 21 over Kentucky and 26 over Iowa.
Next up for the Cougars is the OVC Championships. The event is scheduled for Nov. 1 in Union City, Tennessee.
