PEORIA, Ill. – Cougar cross country ran the NCAA Midwest Regionals Nov. 16. The women's 6k race took off at 11:00 a.m. and the men's 10k took off at 12:00 p.m. SIUE had several underclassmen running the event with three out of seven runners for the men being underclassmen, and four out of seven of the women's runners were underclassmen.
This was the first 10k the men's team have run all season, making this the first colligate 10k for SIUE freshman runners
Tanner Emerson and
Logan Luttrell.
Emerson led the Cougars finishing 142nd, with a time of 32:09.15, this is also good for the second fastest 10k run by a freshman in SIUE history.
Jackson Edwards finished 169th at 32:54.25.
D'Andre Watson finished in 180th at 33:22.62,
Tyler Guthrie finished 181st at 33:24.41, Luttrell finished 191st at 33:59.33, and
Cullen Krieg finished 198th at 35:23.98.
Freshman
Erica Woodard led the charge for the women's team finishing 193rd with a time of 22:57.56. Following her was
Riley Doyle at 206th crossing the finish line at 23:13.73.
Close together were
Mia Loafman finishing 209th with a time of 23:18.03, and
Sophia Harrison 213th at 23:12.83.
Ana Keller finished 225th at 24:07.00,
Emilee Franklin finished 228th at 24:39.69, and
Courtney Anthonies finished 229th at 25:25.76.
