Sophie Robinson had her 15th double-double of the season with 15 kills and 11 digs.
Kinley Quast stepped up for the Cougars tallying a career-high 18 digs, while
Kennedy Pike recorded a career-high 13 kills hitting at .385 and
Teagan Sullivan had a career-high 17 digs.
Volleyball went point for point with SEMO claiming the first set 25-17 before falling in the final three sets (25-16,25-17,25-21).
SIUE is now 12-16 overall and 7-10 in Ohio Valley Conference play. SEMO is now 19-12 overall and 11-6 in OVC play.
First Community Arena also saw strong performances from
Grace Nichols and
Kyndia Smith who had nine kills each, and
Paige Bernstein who had 32 assists and ally Hughes with 21 assists.
The teams were evenly matched, with SIUE having 58 kills, four aces, three blocks, and 55 assists. SEMO matched the Cougars with 68 digs, but led in kills (59), aces (7), blocks (4) and assists (54).
SIUE will take on SEMO again Nov. 19 at 5 pm.
