MOREHEAD, Ky. – SIUE volleyball was unable to find their rhythm after falling to Morehead State in three sets.
The first set was clos3, 25-23 with the Cougars only behind by two points. The team trailed the Eagles in the next two sets with scores of 25-18 and 25-11.
The Cougars are now 12-14 overall and 7-8 in conference play, while Morehead improves to 18-6 overall and 12-1 in OVC play.
Sophie Robinson led the team with eight kills and 14 digs.
Paige Bernstein posted 12 assists, while
Grace Nichols had four blocks.
Kinley Quast saw the court tonight as well contributing two aces.
As a team the Cougars had 22 kills, six blocks, 21 assists and 42 digs. They also had three aces compared to the Eagles two aces, 44 kills, 14 blocks, 40 assists and 50 digs.
MSU was led by M.E. Hargan with 12 kills, two aces and 12 digs.
The cougars remain in Morehead for their next game Friday. First serve is set for 4 pm CT.
