MOREHEAD, Ky. – SIUE fell to Morehead State in three sets. The Cougars were swept in the first two sets (25-17,25-16). The teams fought through a close third set (29-17) before the Eagles could pull through and claim the win.
The Cougars are now 12-15 overall and 7-9 in OVC play while the Eagles improve to 19-6 overall and 13-1 in OVC play.
Sophie Robinson led SIUE with 15 kills and had 10 digs giving her 14 double-doubles of the season.
Paige Bernstein and
Ally Hughes had 15 assists a piece.
Teagan Sullivan had a career-high 14 digs and was followed by
Kinley Quast with 13.
As a team SIUE had 38 kills, one ace, six blocks, 35 assists and 61 digs compared to MSU's 47 points, four aces, six blocks, 45 assists and 61 digs.
Up next, the Cougars will finish out regular season play at First Community Arena with Southeast Missouri State Nov.18-19. First serve is set for 6 pm.
