EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE track and field opens the new year Saturday at Missouri's Alexis Jarrett Invitational, hosted at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Jan. 10.
Six additional schools will join the Cougars at the meet, including Kansas City, Central Methodist, Iowa Western CC, Barton CC, Cottey and Missouri.
Competition starts on Saturday morning with the men's weight throw and both men's and women's high jump at 10 a.m. Field events will conclude at 2:30 with the women's shot put.
Track events are scheduled to begin at 12:45 p.m. with the mile, followed by the 60m hurdles at 1 p.m. Running events will wrap up with the 4x400m relays, starting with the men's race at 3:45 p.m.
Both SIUE squads enter the meet with new faces, as the men's and women's team each welcome several newcomers to their rosters this season.
The Cougars also returned several athletes who competed at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational during the 2025 season. Mariyah Menicucci placed ninth in the women's weight throw with a mark of 13.75m.
Teagan Sullivan finished second in the women's long jump as a freshman, recording a leap of 5.74m.
Kaylee Allen placed third in the women's 60m, with a time of 7.84 seconds, while Makayla white earned third in the women's 500m clocking 1:00.78, On the men's side,
Tanner Emerson finished third in the 3,000m with a time of 8:43.93.
