EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's basketball Head Coach Samantha Quigley Smith has added two familiar faces to her staff.
Caprice Smith will join the staff as an assistant coach while Jessica Kelliher has been added as a graduate assistant.
Smith comes to SIUE after spending four seasons on staff at UIC, where she helped the Flames to three consecutive postseason appearances in 2024 and 2025. UIC won 66 games with Smith on staff, including 19 wins during 2022-23 season, tying for the school record in wins.
As a player, Caprice Smith starred at DePaul from 2004-08, where she played along side Coach Sam and her sister, three-time WNBA All-Star and 2022 WNBA champion Allie Quigley. The Blue Demons went to four NCAA tournaments during Caprice Smith's career, including the team's first Sweet 16 appearance in 2005-06. Caprice Smith was an All-BIG EAST honoree in 2007 and scored 1,199 points in her Blue Demon career.
Kelliher comes to SIUE after playing professionally, most recently with Real Celta de Vigo in Spain where she won a league championship and was voted as the MVP. Her career also included time in Sweden and Belgium. Kelliher spent her college career at Lewis, where she finished her career under Coach Sam and was a teammate of current SIUE Assistant Coach Tierney Lockett.
At Lewis, Kelliher was a Division II All-American, scored more than 2,700 career points and pulled down more than 1,000 rebounds in her career.
