Truman State Edges Cougars

         ELSAH, Ill. - Truman State took four of six singles matches and edged Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 4-3 in men's college tennis.
         The Cougars had a strong start in doubles with a victory by Paulo Gonzalez and Michael Chamberlain in No. 1 doubles 9-8. Rob Young and Cole Garrison would lose at No. 2 doubles while Jordan and Devan Faulkenberg would claim victory in the No. 3 doubles match 8-5. The 2-1 doubles victory would give SIUE the doubles point.
         In singles, SIUE would get wins at No. 1 singles and No. 6 singles as Gonzalez won 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 over Peter Bracha and Jordan Faulkenberg won 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 over Colin Boswell. Truman State would get wins in the rest of the singles and come out with a one-point team victory.
         The Cougars are now 2-4 on the season and will look to get back on track the rest of the weekend as they continue their road trip to Ft. Wayne, Ind., where they face Robert Morris (Pa.), Dayton, and IUPU-Ft. Wayne.
