SIUE Women's Soccer Tabbed Second in GLVC Preseason Poll

         The coaches have spoken.
         With one first-place vote, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's soccer team has been picked to finish second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference for the 2000 season.
         The preseason poll is made through the selections of the league's 12 coaches. The coaches selected Northern Kentucky University, behind the force of 11 first-place votes, to win the GLVC.
         SIUE, 13-6 overall and 9-2 in the GLVC last season, has been the regular-season leader in each of the past two seasons.
         After NKU and SIUE, the poll continues with the University of Southern Indiana, the University of Indianapolis, Saint Joseph's College, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Quincy University, Lewis University, Bellarmine University, Kentucky Wesleyan College and IUPU-Ft. Wayne.
         SIUE begins the 2000 season on the road this weekend at the Missouri Southern Invitational in Joplin, Mo. The Cougars face Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and Missouri Southern on Sunday at 3 p.m. SIUE's final exhibition game of the season is tonight with a matchup at Lindenwood at 6.
