No. 14 Cougars Win 10th Straight

         EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - Lindsey Kampwerth scored the winning goal just 3:08 into overtime as Southern Illinois University Edwardsville defeated Lewis 2-1 in women's college soccer. The victory gave SIUE's its record-tying 10th consecutive victory, equaling the mark set during the 1998
         season.
         SIUE, ranked No. 14 in the nation, improved to 12-2 overall and a GLVC-leading 8-0 record. Lewis dropped to 5-8-2 and 2-4-2 in the GLVC.
         The Cougars next face UW-Parkside on Sunday with game time set for noon at Korte Stadium.
         On Friday, Lewis jumped ahead with an unassisted goal at 32:08 fropm Bethanee Taylor.
         SIUE countered before halftime with a penalty kick by Kristine Armstrong, her 10th goal of the season. Armstrong became the first Cougar since Colleen Creamer in 2000 to score 10 or more goals.
         The two teams were deadlocked although SIUE had the edge in shots in the game at 20-6.
         SIUE's pushed forward in the overtime period and picked up a score from Kampwerth from six yards out on an assist from Katie Yearian.
