OWENSBORO, Ky. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville goalkeepers Kim Roady and Kaci Backs combined for shutout Sunday as the Cougars blanked Kentucky Wesleyan 2-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference women's soccer action.
         The Cougars outshot the Panthers 17-6 in winning their third straight game. SIUE improved to 7-4-2 overall and 5-3-2 in the GLVC. With the loss, Kentucky Wesleyan falls to 3-8-1 and 1-8 in the GLVC.
         The Panthers fended off nine SIUE shots in the first half as both teams went to the locker room at halftime tied 0-0.
         SIUE found the scoring touch in the second half as Elizabeth Valenti scored at 71:40 on an assist by Elizabeth Ball. Amy Million added an insurance goal at 83:10 on an assist by Jennifer Kratzer.
         The Cougars next travel to first-place and undefeated Quincy Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
