Southern Illinois University Edwardsville goalkeepers Kaci Backs and Kim Roady matched UW-Parkside goalkeeper Erica Higuchi for 110 minutes as the two teams tied 0-0.
         Heading into Sunday's game, SIUE Coach Lynda Bowers will have to determine if it was good defense that stopped UWP or an offense that couldn't get started against the Rangers.
         Backs and Roady grabbed eight saves off UWP's 11 shots. Higuchi finished with two saves off SIUE's three shots.
         SIUE is now 3-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. It was the first time UWP hasn't walked off the field in conference play without a win. The Rangers are now 5-1-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the GLVC.
         The Cougars face Lewis in Romeoville Sunday. Game time is 2:30 p.m.
