Late-Game Heroics Continue for SIUE

         EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's soccer ran its winning streak to six games Sunday with a 2-1 victory over Missouri-Rolla.
         It took more late-game heroics for the Cougars to overcome Missouri-Rolla. Chelsey Johnston scored her first goal of the season, burying a shot from 10 yards out from Katie Yearian at 79:43.
         The Cougars improved to 9-3-1 overall and 8-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Next up for the Cougars is a matchup against Quincy at home next Sunday. That game could go long in determining the top seed for the upcoming Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.
         Missouri-Rolla, which fell to 3-9-1 overall and 0-7-1 in the GLVC, scored first when Janine Einhellig connected on a pass from Rachel Wille at 39:19.
         SIUE wouldn't score until 56:24 when Elizabeth Valenti scored her fifth goal of the season on an assist from Jenny Kates.
         SIUE outshot 10-7 after managing just one shot in the first half.
