CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Elizabeth Hampl won the Ohio Valley Conference crown in the women's hammer throw. 

Hampl won with a throw of 188 feet even. She is currently No. 18 on the NCAA West qualifying list.  

"Hampl defended her title in the hammer," said Head Coach Eileen McAllister. "She is our lone senior and scored in both of her events. Conditions were less than ideal but it's all about competing with grit and no excuses." 

LaDonna Caston earned three silver medals throughout the day. In the 100-meter hurdles, she finished with a time of 13.50. She recorded a time of 12.02 in the 100 meters and was a member of the second-place 4x100 meter team, who finished in 46.24. She also anchored the 4x400 meter relay to a fourth place finish.  

"I can't say enough about LaDonna's contribution to the team this season, culminating with this weekend," said McAllister. "She competed in five events and fought until the end as we expect." 

Jessica Oranika, also earning a silver medal as a part of the women's 4x100 meter relay, claimed a silver medal in the 400 meter dash at 54.34 and bronze in the 200 meter. She was also on the 4th place 4x400 meter relay.  

Freshman Brittany Thomas, also a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams, earned a bronze medal in the 100 just behind Caston, finishing in 12.05. She finished fourth in the 200 adding more team points. 

Completing the women's 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams was LaCresha Linton. The women recorded 78 points for a seventh-place finish.

"I am proud of the coaches and the athletes," said McAllister. "We are a young talented team with a bright future. It's exciting to see their progress." 

The qualifying lists for the NCAA West preliminaries will be released Thursday at noon.
