EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE Track and Field heads to Louisville, Ky. to attend the Jim Freeman / Clark Wood Invitational (April 23-25).
Throwing events will begin Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with the women's hammer throw. Running events will begin at 12:10 p.m. with the heptathlon and be followed by the decathlon at 12:30 p.m. Jumping events start with the women's long jump at 2:15 p.m.
Friday's events will start at 9:30 a.m. with the women's javelin, jumping events will start shortly after with the women's long jump. Running events will start with the decathlon 110 hurdles at 11:30 a.m.
Saturday will be the final day of the meet beginning promptly at 10:00 a.m. with the men's discus. Jumping events will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the women's high jump and track events start at 12:15 p.m. with the women's 100m hurdles.
Current Rankings
The Cougars last competed at the Gibson Invitational, where
Nyah Williams placed first in the women's triple jump at 11.81m (38-9). Williams currently ranks third in the Ohio Valley Conference for the women's triple jump.
Mia Jackson is currently second in the OVC for the women's 100 hurdles with a time of 14.58. She achieved this time at the Gibson Invitational (April 16).
Erica Woodard also ranks third in the OVC for the women's 5000m. Her third-place time came from the Wash U Distance Carnival (Mar. 26). She crossed the finish line with a time of 17:24.43.
Maryiah Menicucci and
Tyler Bell had strong performances during the Cougar Classic (April 11). Menicucci is fourth in the OVC for the women's shot put at 13.24m (43-5.25) and Bell is fourth in the OVC for the men's 110 hurdles with a time of 14.39.
During the Ole Miss Classic (Mar 26)
Drew Tucker and
Darius Alberty moved up in the OVC rankings. Tucker is fourth in the OVC for the men's high jump after reaching a height of 2.05m (6-8.75) and Alberty is fourth for the men's javelin with a mark of 55.27m (1814).
