EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE Head Coach Scott Block left this weekend's indoor meet with high praise for the SIUE men's and women's track and field teams.

"This was the kind of weekend we needed," he said. "We had big personal bests across all of the event groups and that is a great indicator moving into the championship segment of the indoor season."

Several SIUE women turned in personal bests in the mile. Erin Kennedy turned in a season-best and PR of 5 minutes, 11.90 seconds. Aly Goff was five seconds behind at 5:16.33 followed by Allie Sweatt (5:18.11), Jess Clarke (5:24.80) and Keri Burmester (5:31.56).

Bobby Kaluza bested his PR in the 60-meter hurdles with a fourth-place finish in 8.37.

Mladen Hristov was second in the triple jump with a leap of 14.85 meters (48-6), the best triple jump of the season for the Cougars.

Next up for the Cougars is the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan, next weekend.
