AUSTIN, Texas - Claire Nolan completed her season Saturday with a 45th-place finish in the shot put at the NCAA Division I West Preliminaries.

Nolnan's throw was 44 feet, 7.5 inches (13.60m) and came on the second of her three throws.

"I am proud of Claire and all that she has accomplished this past season," said SIUE Head Coach Scott Block. "Today, she had a hard time getting going in the heat (97 degrees) but was able to finish with a good technical throw on her third attempt (unfortunately that was a foul). She will be ready to go next season."

The top 12 advanced to the NCAA Division I Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The winner was Arkansas State's Erin Farmer at 59-5.5 (18.12m).
