SIUE Draws with Colorado State

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's soccer draws 0-0 with Colorado State despite numerous shots.

The Cougars shot 18 times with 11 of those on goal. Each team had great looks on net with Colorado State shooting 16 times.

SIUE looked to score multiple times in the first half with eight shots being put up.

"The first 45 tonight was the most complete 45 minutes that we have played so far," Head Coach Derek Burton said. "I really like the drive that our players are showing."

Andrea Frerker tallied five shots on the day with Peyton Roehnelt shooting three times.

Juli Rossi finished the game with eight saves, two coming in the second overtime.

"I can't say enough about Juli," Burton added. She always makes one or two unbelievable saves a game and it seems to give us a chance and keep us in it."

Emily Grahl and Rossi played all 110 minutes for the Cougars.

"If we keep battling like that and creating chances we're going to win games," Burton said.

The Cougars are back at home on Sunday when they will face Missouri State at 1 p.m.
