SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS
The UT Martin Skyhawks are entering Thursday's semifinal fixture at 6-1-3, coming off a 4-2 home win against third-seeded Southeast Missouri on Friday night. UT Martin finished the 2019 season with a 8-6-5 record, going 6-2-2 in OVC play. SIUE and UT Martin will meet for the 16th time on Thursday. The Cougars and Skyhawks have played once before this season in a 2-0 SIUE victory on March 12th at Ralph Korte Stadium in Edwardsville.
The Cougars and Skyhawks have met twice before in postseason play, with UT Martin earning a 2-1 overtime win in the 2013 OVC Tournament semifinals and SIUE notching a 2-1 victory in the first round of the 2017 edition.

Derek Burton is just one win shy of reaching 100 wins at the helm in Edwardsville. Burton stands second in all-time wins, trailing the 153 wins of Brian Korbesmeyer (1989-2002; NCAA Division II).
IT'S TOURNEY TIME
For the fifth consecutive season and eighth since joining the
Ohio Valley Conference, SIUE women's soccer will be competing in the OVC Tournament. In 2021, the Cougars will enter as the No. 2 seed - tied for the highest seed in program history (2014).
DYNAMIC DUO
The dynamic duo of
Lily Schnieders and
MacKenzie Litzsinger has proven to be the most effective pair in the
Ohio Valley Conference, with nine goals, seven assists, and 25 total points between the two. Litzsinger and Schnieders are ranked first and second, respectively, in shots, shots on goal, points, and goals scored. The duo are also ranked in the top three in assists. The pair have experience playing together prior to arriving in Edwardsville as well, having both graduated from Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton, Missouri.
POSTSEASON HONORS
Three Cougars earned conference-level postseason honors for their outstanding efforts during the Spring 2021 season.
MacKenzie Litzsinger became the first player in program history to win a player of the year award, securing OVC Forward of the Year.
Lily Schnieders was named to the All-OVC Second Team, while
Matea Diekema appears on the All-OVC Newcomer Team.
