SCOUTING THE GAMECOCKS
The Jacksonville State Gamecocks are entering Tuesday's contest at 3-5-1, coming off a 2-1 home loss against Tennessee Tech on Friday afternoon. JSU finished the 2019 season with a 4-14 record, going 1-9 in OVC play. SIUE and Jacksonville State will meet for the 11th time on Tuesday, and the Cougars hold a 6-4-0 lead in the all-time series. This will be the final match between the Cougars and Gamecocks as members of the OVC, as JSU will be departing the conference next year.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cougars netted a goal with just 120 seconds before the final whistle to secure a 1-1 draw against Belmont on Friday.
Maria Haro shot to score the lone goal of the match, her first of the season and the 10th Cougar to score a goal this season.
LOOKING AHEAD
With one match remaining in the regular season, SIUE has already locked up a spot in the four-team
Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. The tournament will be hosted by Murray State, who has already secured the No. 1 seed by way of clinching the OVC Regular Season Championship. Details, including SIUE's semifinal opponent, will be available shortly after the conclusion of Tuesday's contests.

The dynamic duo of
Lily Schnieders and
MacKenzie Litzsinger has proven to be the most effective pair in the
Ohio Valley Conference, with nine goals, seven assists, and 25 total points between the two. Litzsinger and Schnieders are ranked first and second, respectively, in shots, shots on goal, points, and goals scored. The duo are also ranked in the top three in assists.
A LOOK BACK
The Cougars enter the Spring 2021 season coming off a 10-5-5 season in 2019, including a 5-2-3 record in
Ohio Valley Conference play. SIUE's success in the regular season earned them a spot in the OVC Tournament, where they fell to Belmont in a heartbreaking penalty shootout to decide the conference championship.
THE SEASON AHEAD
The OVC announced that women's soccer teams would play a 10-match conference-only schedule in Spring 2021, followed by a four-team tournament to determine the OVC champion. The schedule will use a round-robin format in which teams will play against every other team in the conference once.
