MURRAY, Ky. – Men's and women's kicks off their outdoor season both taking third at the Margaret Simmons Invitational with a several strong performances.
Grant Milbrath finished first in the men's shot put with 15.70m. He also claimed third in the men's Hammer throw at 58.32m.
Taylor Lehman claimed first in the men's 400m hurdles, crossing the finish line with a time of 53.98.
Maryiah Menicucci claimed first in the women's shot put at 13.52m.
Gabby Yaccino also had a first-place finish in Discus with a distance of 41.75m.
THROWS
Milbrath also competed in the men's discus where he claimed eighth at 39.59m.
Abigail Irvin competed in both women's shot put and discus. She placed ninth in shot put at 8.59m and eighth in discus at 30.52m.
Also competing in the women's discus was Alison Sanders who placed fifth at 34.33m.
SPRINTS
Konnor Bouman finished seventh in the men's 100m crossing the finish line at 11.01.
Kaylee Allen ran the women's 100m where she placed third at 12.26.
In the men's 200m
Konrad Sacha finished fifth at 21.65. He was followed by
Jonah Grawer in eighth (22.38) and
Casey Borkowski in ninth (22.62).
Mia Jackson led the Cougars in the women's 200m finishing in third place at 25.30. Also competing in the women's 200m was
Jazmin West (4th/25.34),
Kaylee Allen (11th/26.04), and
Makayla White (15th/26.30) and
Alise Simon (23rd/27.67).
Sacha and Borkowski both ran the men's 400m. Sacha cross the finish line in third at 49.65 with Borkowski following in seventh at 51.53.
For the women' 400m
Jaiden Parker finished in fourth at 59.45. Also running the 400m was
Kennedy Williams (10th/1:03.01) and
Alise Simon (13th/1:06.65).
Yaccino also competed in the women's hammer throw finishing in third with 48.91m. Also competing was Sanders (6th/44.04m), Menicucci (7th/42.12m) and Irvin (12th/34.64m).
JUMPS & HURDLES
For the men's high jump
Caden Belcher placed second with a height of 1.85m
There were three competitors for the women's high jump.
Aseanti Boone placed second at 1.60m,
Zaria Searcy followed in third at 1.55m and
Harper Smith came in fourth at 1.55m.
Drew tucker competed in the men's triple jump finishing in fifth at 12.75m.
Teagan Sullivan placed third in the women's long jump at 5.40m. Following her was
Sheena Cumberbatch (4th/5.38m), and
Nyah Williams (11th/5.07m).
Cumberbatch and Williams both competed in the women's triple jump as well. Cumberbatch placed third at 11.77m and Williams finished fourth at 11.13m.
Simon McLaine competed in the men's 110m hurdles finishing in second (15:21).
Vashanti Reynolds ran the women's 100m hurdles placing second at 14.26. Following her was
Mia Jackson in third at 14.32.
Also running the men's 400m hurdles was Simon McLaine (4th/56.73) and
Caden Belcher (5th/59.59)
In the women's 400m hurdles
Megan Derrick placed third at 1:09.50. Behind her was
Kennedy Williams (4th/1:13.84), Reynolds (5th/1:18.11) and
Aseanti Boone (6th/1:21.65).
DISTANCE & MID-DISTANCE
D'Andre Watson ran the men's 800m finishing in sixth place with a time of 1:59.81. He was followed by
Logan Luttrell in eighth with a time of 2:00.65.

Jackson Edwards was the lone runner in the men's 1500m finishing in 14th with a time of 4:13.86.
The women's 1500m was led by
Kinze Shea in fourth at 4:50.94. She was followed by
Erica Woodard (6th/4:54.49),
Mia Loafman (9/4:56.33),
Sophia Harrison (13th/5:02.00),
Emilee Franklin (13th/5:04.54),
Riley Doyle (16th/5:07.85),
Ana Keller (17th/5:13.67),

Finishing in third for the men's 5000m was
Tyler Guthrie (15:27.26).
RELAYS
There were two men's 4x100 relay teams claiming first and second place. Borkowski, Sacha, Grawer and Bouman finished with a time of 42.89. Whole McLaine, Lehman, Belcher and Romantay Abram followed with a time of 48.56.
The Cougars had three teams competing in the 4x100 relay.
Coming in first was Darelle Rice, Parker, West and Allen at 49.54. Following in second was Fryer, Sullivan, Reynolds and White at 50.22. Finishing in third was Simon, Jackson, Short and Williams at 51.01.
