EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The 66ers hosted the Cougar Classic today, claiming seven first-place finishes, six second place finishes and one third place finish.
The 66ers also celebrated its 13 seniors including
Caden Belcher (Edwardsville, Ill.),
Tyler Bell (Memphis, Tenn.),
Konnor Bouman (Bloomington, Ill.),
Norman Mukwada (Mutare, Zimbabwe) and
D'Andre Watson (Gilbert, Ariz.) on the men's team and
Kaylee Allen (Galesburg, Ill.),
Aseanti Boone (St. Louis, Mo.),
Ana Keller (Troy, Ill.),
Cassidy Short (Sullivan, Ill.),
Allison Sanders (Jonesville, Mich.),
Harper Smith (Edwards, Ill.), Payton Teiffel (Benton, Ill.) and
Nyah Williams (St. Louis, Mo.) from the women's team. .
The women's 4x400m relay placed first with a time of 3:56.32. The team consisted of
Kaylee Allen,
Megan Derrick,
Calie Field and
Jaiden Parker.
Tyler Bell led the team with a first-place finish in the men's 110m hurdles at 14.39, he was followed by
Simon McClaine in third at 14.79.
Drew Tucker placed first in the men's high jump at 1.98m (6-6.0), and
Zaria Searcy placed first in the women's high jump at 1.64m (5-4.50).
Tanner Emerson also had a first-place finish in the men's 3000m with a time of 8:35.17, moving up to second in the all-time top five outdoor performances.
Erica Woodard had a first-place finish in the women's 3000m at 10:09.02. This puts her in third for the programs all-time top five outdoor performances.
Maryiah Menicucci found a first-place finish in the women's weight throw at 13.24m (43-5.25).
Nyah Williams placed first in the women's triple jump at 12.20m (40-.50).
Megan Derrick had a second-place finish in the women's 400m hurdles at 1:06.44, a new personal best. Nathaniel Wright also ran a personal best that placed second in the men's 800m at 1:53.97.
Allison Sanders placed second in the women's hammer throw at 47.03m (154-03) and
Maryiah Menicucci followed in third at 46.51m (152-07).
Darius Alberty placed second in the men's javelin at 51.60m (169-10).
The Cougars also saw a second-place finish from
Teagan Sullivan in the women's long jump at 5.71m (18-8.75). In the women's pole vault Payton carter placed second at 3.17m (10-5), putting her in fourth for the programs all-time top outdoor performances.
The men's 4x400m relay was made up of
Plamedi Nseka,
Konrad Sacha, Nathaniel Wright and
Simon McClaine, they placed third at 3:19.65.
Sprints & hurdles
Trenton Brooks led the men's 100m at 10.72, followed by
Konnor Bouman (25th/11.56).
Jazmin West also placed sixth in the women's 100m at 12.07 she was followed by
Kaylee Allen (11th/12.44) and Darrell Rice (19th/12.78).
For the women's 100m hurdles
Mia Jackson placed seventh at 14.80 and Oliva Hansen followed in ninth at 15.15. Also running the men's 110m hurdles was
Darius Alberty who placed eighth at 15.66, a new personal best.
Brooks also ran the men's 200m, placing eighth at 21.90 and was followed by Bell in 12th at 22.09. For the women's 200m
Calie Field placed eighth with a personal best of 25.41, she was followed by Mia Jackso in ninth at 25.46. Also competing was
Jazmin West (10th/25.52) and Makayla White (16th/26.19).
For the men's 400m
Konrad Sacha in fourth (48.27) while
Plamedi Nseka finished in ninth at 50.45. The women's 400m was led by
Jaiden Parker in sixth at 58.14, a personal best, and Makayla White finished in 11th at 1:00.66.
Simon McClaine came in fourth for the men's 400m hurdles at 55.22.
Distance & Mid-Distance
Also running the men's 800m was
Cullen Krieg who ran a season best of 2:00.34 placing 15th, following him was
Reece Wolf (21st/2:02.20). In the women's 800m
Kate Soderlind ran a season best of 2:37.50 placing 26th.
In the men's 1500m
Andrew Perry placed 28th at 4:11.58, he was followed by
D'Andre Watson (30th/4:11.82). In the women's 1500m
Mia Loafman placed fifth at 4:52.93, following her was
Emilee Franklin (5th/4:54.96),
Kaylee Sprague (10th/4:55.80) and Alexis Kampwerth (29th/5:30.28).
Also running the men's 3000m was Ian O'Laughlin who placed eighth at 8:56.01, followed by
Aaron Conderman (11th/9:01.82) and
Jack Willenborg (16th/9:07.42). For the women's 3000m
Kinze Shea placed fourth (10:57.90),
Ana Keller placed eighth (11:15/81),
Ella Sager in 11th (11:28.86) and
Arianna Neisen (14th/11:45.82).
Throws & Jumps
Tanner Gimm competed in the men's discus placing 10th at 38.44m (126-01). For the women's discus
Josie Hapack placed fourth (36.81m/120-09), while
Allison Sanders placed fifth (36.03m/118-02),
Alexis Feldhake placed eighth (35.30m/115-09) and
Abigail Irvin placed 14th (30.95m/101-06).
Gimm also competed in the hammer throw, and placed 18th at 31.43m (103-01). Hapack also competed in the women's hammer throw finishing sixth (42.06m/138-00), followed by Irvin (12th/36.55m/119-11) and Feldhake (22nd/27.22m/89-03).
Hapack also competed in the women's shot put placing fourth (11.99m/39-4) and was followed by
Alexis Feldhake in 13th (10.27m/33-8.50).
Caden Belcher placed fourth in the men's high jump (1.88m/6-2) and
Aseanti Boone placed fourth in the women's high jump (1.58m/5-2.25) followed by
Teagan Sullivan in fifth (1.53m/5-2.25).
Konnor Bouman also competed in the men's javelin placing 14th (34.70m/113-10) in the women's javelin
Kaylee Allen placed sixth (31.91m/104-08) and
Cassidy Short finished seventh (30.32m/99-05).
For the women's long jump
Nyah Williams placed sixth (5.47m/17-11.5), Oliva Smith placed ninth (5.21m/17-1.25),
Harper Smith placed 16th (4.98m/16-4.25) and
Cassidy Short finished 17th (4.90m/16-1).
Relays
The women's 4x100m team was made up of
Kaylee Allen, Callie Field,
Mia Jackson and
Jazmin West, they placed fifth at 47.45.
