EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Track and Field heads to Indianapolis, Indiana for the Hoosier Horsepower Classic. This event will take place at the Indiana State Fairground and Event Center Jan.18.
Field events are set to start at 10:30 am beginning with the women's weight throw and will finish at 5:00 pm with the men's shot put. The track events are set to start at 11:20 am beginning with the women's 5000m and conclude at 5:55 pm with the men's 4x400m.
Last week the Cougars had a strong performance at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational. In field events
Teagan Sullivan took second in the women's long jump(5.74m),
Drew Tucker placed third in the men's high jump (2.00m),
Tyler Bell claimed third in the men's 60m hurdles (8.29),
Vashanti Reynolds took fourth in the women's 60m hurdles (9.28), and
Maryiah Menicucci took third in the women's shot put (12.31m).
For the track events
Kaylee Allen took third in the women's 60m (7.84), and seventh in the women's 200m (25.93).
Taylor Lehman placed fourth in the men's 400m (49.66),
Makayla White was third in the women's 400m (1:00.68),
Tanner Emerson was third in the men's 3000m (8:43.93), and the men's 4x400m team, Connor Burston, S McLaine,
Konrad Sacha, and
Taylor Lehman, took third (3:22.54).
Freshman
Ella Goodman claimed third in the women's 800m at 2:23.40. This was also good for Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the week honors.
