EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE men's and women's track and field start their season Friday with SIU Carbondale's Saluki Fast start, a two-day event.

The meet will take place at the SIU Recreation Center / Indoor Fieldhouse.
SCHEDULE
On Friday the men's and women's Pentathlon will take place, with the women's starting around 2 pm and the men's following at 2:30 pm.
Saturday's events will begin with the women's weight throw at 8:30 am following with the women's pole vault at 10 am. Men's and women's long jump and shot put at 1 pm with high jump and triple jump events at 5 pm.
The running events will begin at 2:30 pm starting with eh women's 60mH semis. The top eight advanced to a two-heat final.
MET THE TEAM
SIUE men's track and field welcomes seven freshmen to their team including
Darius Alberty (Litchfield Park, Ariz), Chance Butz (Valparaiso, Ind.),
Aaron Conderman (Dixon, Ill.),
Wyatt Doyle (Roxana, Ill.),
Zach Lane (Glen Carbon, Ill.),
Reece Wolf (Saint Anthony, Ind.) and
Nate Wright (Barnhart, Mo.).
They also added three transfer students to their roster. Sophomore
Plamedi Nseka from Galesburg, Ill. Senior
Norman Mukwada (Mutare, Zimbabwe) joins the Cougars from Florida A&M, and graduate student Ian O'Laughlin (Metamora, Ill.) joins the team after four season at Bradley.
The women's team had eight new additions to their roster, including
Gianna Cupertino,
Alexis Feldhake (St. Peters, Mo.),
Calie Field (Carrollton, Ill.),
Olivia Hansen (Sweden),
Lena Jackson (Peoria, Ill.),
Olivia Smith (Indianapolis, Ind.),
Kaylee Sprague (Stevensville, Mich.) and
Allison Taylor (Dupo, Ill.).
They also added two transfer students. Junior
Josie Hapack (Highland, Ill.) comes to Edwardsville from Indiana State and senior Christy Muldrew-Shank (Indiana River, Mich.) joins the Cougars from Campbellsville University.
