COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Cougars wrapped up their fifth meet of the season. This was the first time they went to Columbia Missouri this time competing in the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational. There were several personal records across events during this two-day invite.
Throws
Maryiah Menicucci claimed 16th at 12.76m in the women's shot put and 34 at 11.36m in the women's weight throw.
Abigail Irvin placed 21st at 8.25m in women's shot put and 35th at 11.12m in women's weight throw.
Gabby Yaccino claimed 31 at 13.57m in the women's weight throw.
Competing in the men's weight throw was Joel Degarcia who placed 21st at 14.47m.
Sprints
Jazmin West led the Cougars for the women's 60m coming in 16th at 8:00. She was followed by Darelle Rice (19th/8.13) and
Jordyn Elem-Simelton (20th/8.20).
The women's 200m was led by
Kaylee Allen who came in 23rd crossing the finish line at 25:46. She was followed by West (24th/25.70), Rice (30th/27.40),
Kennedy Williams (32nd/27.93) and
Alise Simon (33rd/28.22).
Freshman
Jaiden Parker set a personal record in both the women's 200m (25th/26.00) and the 400m (21/1:00.32).
Kaylee Allen had a PR in the women's 400m finishing in 17th at 57.15.
Makayla White followed in 20th at 1:00.01.
The men's 200m was led by
Chase Burston in 20th at 22.65. Following him was Simon McLaine (21st/23.16), and Johan Grawer (22nd/23.22).
Taylor Lehman claimed 19th at 49.28 in the men's 400m. Also running was Simon McLaine (27th/50.72) and
Caden Belcher (28th/52.62).
Hurdles
The women's 60m hurdles had three runners.
Mia Jackson led the pack placing 11 at 9.00. She was followed by
Vashanti Reynolds (13th/9:06) and
Harper Smith (17th/10.24)
For the men's 60m hurdles
Taylor Lehman placed 7th at 8.29 and was followed by Simon McLaine in 10th at 8.54.
Jumps
For the women's high jump
Zaria Searcy had a PR coming in eighth at 1.65, this height ties for fourth in the programs top five performances.
In the women's long jump
Teagan Sullivan placed 11th at 5.63m. She was followed by
Folasade Oladipupo (18th/5.32),
Jordyn Elem-Simelton (19th/5.29), and
Sheena Cumberbatch (21st/5.24).
Drew Tucker competed int eh men's high jump placing ninth at 1.98m. Also competing was
Caden Belcher who placed 11th at 1.83m.
Distance
Megan Derrick was the only to run the women's 800m placing 13th at 2:25.34.
Erica Woodard ran the women's 3000m placing 14th at 10:07.91, also good for a PR. Following her was
Kinze Shea (23rd/10:48.99),
Mia Loafman (24th/10:52.37),
Ana Keller (25th/10:55.72),
Emilee Franklin (26th/10:56.40) and
Sophia Harrison (27th/10:56.40).
Riley Doyle was the only to run the women's 5000m placing 17th at 18:51.87.
The men's mile was led by
Andrew Perry who placed 24th crossing the finish line at 4:29.21. Also competing was D'Andrew Watson (25th/4:30.46) and
Logan Luttrell (26th/4:46.41).
Tanner Emerson ran the men's 3000m taking 19th at 8:35.19, this time places Emerson among the program's top fie performances.
Jackson Edwards also ran this event placing 24th at 8:46.52.
Tyler Guthrie was the only to run the men's 5000m placing fifth at 15:11.44
Relays
The women's 4x400 team with
Makayla White,
Megan Derrick,
Kennedy Williams, and
Jaiden Parker placed sixth at 4:04.85.
There were two teams in the women's distance medley.
Ella Goodman,
Peyton Tieffel,
Mia Loafman, and
Emilee Franklin placed third at 12:56.28. While
Erica Woodard,
Alexis Kampwerth,
Courtney Anthonies and
Ana Keller came in fourth at 13:01.69.

SIUE will go back to Columbia Missouri for the last time this season to compete in the Missouri Invitational. This invite will take place Friday Feb. 7.
