HALL OF FAME

George Vogel broke numerous school records in his four seasons as a Cougar from 1980 to 1983. The first person in school history to record more than 200 career hits, Vogel was an All-Region outfielder in 1983. His 1982 and 1983 teams advanced to the NCAA Tournament, including a fourth-place national finish at the 1983 College World Series. He set the career record in home runs with 27 and held it until it was passed by SIUE Athletics Hall of Famer Tony Duenas. He nearly doubled the record for stolen bases with 72 and once held records for runs scored (151), runs batted in (144) and at-bats (660). Vogel graduated from SIUE in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in business administration/marketing. Career Statistics
